A few days before Christmas vacation, my cousins randomly thought of going on a roadtrip to Ilocos. They asked me to create an itinerary for a 2-day roadtrip. It was a daunting task because all the blogs I read recommend at least 3 days for exploring the north. It was a challenge and I faced it head on! My Companions: I experienced the roadtrip with relatives. As it was kind of a last minute thing, we invited who we thought would like to come. The roadtrip involved a lot of sleeping, talking and eating on the vehicle. The 2 days were tiring but fun!
Note: I am skipping the usual segments of how we got there and our accommodation as I have really no details to share… How we got there was by renting a van and letting the driver take us to our destination. I slept through the 9 hours of the trip. LOL! And I can’t honestly remember where we stayed. I booked it a few days before our trip and it was my last option since all the hotels and inns I called were fully booked. (It was the holidays after all). It was cheap but nothing remarkable. The Itinerary 2D/1N: Day 1 We came from Pangasinan for this trip. We left home at around midnight and arrived in Vigan in time for breakfast. We didn’t stay in Vigan because we wanted to start from the farthest destination and travel backwards.
Our first touristy stop was the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Ilocos Norte. It was a slightly rainy day and the steps going to the building were slippery so we had to be extra careful. I loved the view from the lighthouse. It was slightly gray though because of the weather.
Next, we went to Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. I only saw it from a distance because waves strong that day and I saw some touristsget soaked while having their photographs taken. It is something to explore at another time.
